Accumulation of nutrients in sweet peppers cultivated in coconut fiber Horticultura Brasileira

The production of sweet peppers in greenhouse has been severely affected by soil pathogens. With this, producers are adopting new cultivation techniques, such as cultivation in substrates, but information about this type of cultivation are still scarce. The aim of the present work was to evaluate nutrient accumulation in sweet peppers cultivated in coconut fiber with fertirrigation in greenhouse. Initially, 160 plants (Eppo cultivar) were divided into four blocks, where two plants per block were analyzed every 21 days after transplanting. ABSTRACT The gelatin industry wastewater has nutrients in its composition, allowing its use in agriculture as an alternative to disposal and recycling of this residue. However, high application rates can cause the accumulation of elements such as sodium in the soil, and generate negative impacts on the environment. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of the application of rates up to 600 m3ha-1 of gelatin industry wastewater in soil columns, on soil chemical attributes in five depths. The Fertigation is the combined application of water and nutrients to a crop. It can be adapted to all types of agricultural crops. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of urea concentration in irrigation water on electrical conductivity of the soil solution and saturation extract along the first cycle of banana cv. Terra Maranhão. The experiment followed a completely randomized design with six treatments and ten replications. Effects of wastewater from a cassava industry on soil chemistry and crop yield of lopsided oats (Avena strigosa Schreb.) BABT

This experiment was carried out in the Arenito soil of the Cidade Gaúcha county, Northwest Paraná in Brazil, in which 0, 150, 300, 450 and 600 m³ ha-1 of wastewater were applied onto soil and the crop yield and soil chemistry were investigated for lopsided oat (Avena strigosa Schreb.) plants. The crop yield from the control was 2818 kg ha-1 contrasting 3629 kg ha-1 when 300 m³ ha-1 of cassava wastewater were applied, and potassium, after haversting, was the only nutrient found in a higher concentration in the soil profile.

Con el propósito de cuantificar las antocianinas totales en maíces de color y caracterizar a los genotipos seleccionados para encontrar los más promisorios en cuanto al rendimiento de grano, se colectaron 40 maíces nativos de la Región Oriente del Estado de Morelos, de los cuales se seleccionaron 15 específicos y se evaluaron igual número de ellos bajo condiciones de temporal y fertirrigación en el campo experimental del Instituto Profesional de la Región Oriente (IPRO) en Xalostoc, Morelos durante el año 2011. Knowledge about the growth of crops allows the planning of rational cultivation methods which contribute to achieve greater potential of plant species, besides supplying information for the construction of descriptive mathematical models of growth. The growth curve of sweet pepper (Eppo hybrid), cultivated in coconut fiber in a greenhouse with fertirrigation, was determined. In vitro degradation of linamarin by microorganisms isolated from cassava wastewater treatment lagoons BJM

This study aimed at isolating and characterizing of microorganisms able to use linamarin as sole carbon source. Thirty one microbial strains were isolated from manipueira, a liquid effluent of cassava processing factories. Among these strains, Bacillus licheniformis (isolate 2_2) and Rhodotorulla glutinis (isolate L1) were able to degrade 71% and 95% of added linamarin, respectively, within 7 days, showing high biodegradation activity and great potential for detoxification of cassava processing wastewaters.

Potassium estimation in the soil solution based on electrical conductivity and soil water content AGRIAMBI

The objective of this work was to evaluate and to validate models for estimating potassium in the soil solution as a function of bulk electrical conductivity (ECw), soil water content (q) and a soil solution electrical conductivity (ECss). Treatments consisted of using three concentrations of injecting solution of potassium chloride (1.0, 2.5 and 4.0 g L-1) which were applied by two trickle irrigation systems (microsprinkler and drip) during the first cycle of the banana crop cv.
